Vietnam, is a one-party Communist state, is holding elections on 22 May for its National Assembly and People’s Councils. The members of the National Assembly will then appoint the prime Minister. Christians in Vietnam are under constant surveillance and frequently face intimidation and arbitrary arrest. Churches must register with the authorities, but regulations introduced in 2013have made registration practically impossible. In this context, pray that those elected the power, even thought they must be members of the Communist party, will be more kindly disposed towards Christians than the previous government.
