Barnabas Fund’s first annual staff training day on Equality and Diversity took place on Friday, 11 September 2015. All UK-based Barnabas personnel attended a training course on “Equality, Diversity and Dignity at Work” led by Donna Chadbone of the Human Resources consultancy firm, Moorepay. The interactive training day, held at the international headquarters in Pewsey, Wiltshire, UK, was attended by around 40 personnel including staff, managers, all the international directors and the chairman of the international board. Other staff, managers and trustees who could not be present are to watch a video of the sessions.
The training session is intended to be the first of a series of annual training days, covering a range of subjects. The training was based on the Discrimination and Equality Act 2010, and looked at different forms of discrimination, including direct, indirect, associative and perceptive, as well as harassment, victimisation and bullying, with case law examples throughout to illustrate.
