Almost four thousand Christians fled from Syrian city of Hassake after Islamic State entered the city on 24 June, destroyed all the hospitals, and seemed poised to take control of it. Many of the Christians had fled to Hassake only five months earlier, when it was a place of relative safety compared with their villages which Islamic States was then targeting. As they seek refuge from their physical enemies, ask God to hear their prayer. As their hearts grow faint, ask that He will be their their rock, refuge and strong tower against the foe. (Psalm 61:1-3) Barnabas Fund sent aid to help them though the local Syrian churches where hundreds took shelter.
