The Saudi Arabian government makes no provision for religious freedom: the official religion is Sunni Islam, its constitution is the Quran, and its legal system is based on a strict interpretation of sharia law. No non-Muslim places of worship are permitted, and the small number of Saudi Christians practise their faith in extreme secrecy. Even expatriate Christians are sometimes punished merely for worshipping together in private homes. Pray that the Saudi government will yield to international pressure and introduce greater religious freedom. Pray for those who currently suffer for their faith in Saudi Arabia. Pray that Lord will be their strength and shield (Psalm 28:7)
