Aimujiang Yimiti, a Uighur Christian from Xinjiang province in north-west China, is serving a 15-year sentence in a labour camp for “preaching Christianity among people of Uighur ethnicity”. Uigurs are a mainly Muslim people-group and Alimuiang was himself brought up as a Muslim. In 2008 local authorities accused Aimuijang of using his business as a cover for his preaching, and he was later arrested. Although he is legally entitled to one visitor every month, the prison authorities have restricted him to one visitor every three month. Pray that Aimujiang will remain strong in the Lord and that his wife and children will not lose heart as the long years pass.
